After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase this seat. It came yesterday and my 3 1/2 year old was so excited about her new big girl seat. I tried to assembly it per the instructions in the book but did not have the strength to push the base and back together. I gave up after struggling with it for over 10 minutes. My husband finally put it together. While I was struggling with it, two snaps broke that hold the cover to the headrest, which I was not too happy about but at least they are not something that is necessary. I think I should be able to sew different snaps on that are more reliable than these plastic kinds on the seat which is why I gave the seat 4 stars. Also there is a protrusion in the very low back of the seat (vertical bars?). Nothing sharp or dangerous it feels like a hard lump in the lower back that I discovered while putting the seat in the car. I will remove the cover from the back to examine the area this evening. My daughter rode in the seat this morning for about 5 minutes and did not complain about anything sticking her in the back. In fact, she seemed very happy with her new seat. The seat fits very well in the car and is not as wide as her Britax Marathon. She is very happy with the color and the way the back is raised and lowered is a very nice feature that will come in handy as she grows.

My family and I were recently involved in a serious car accident where our car was broadsided. My 5 year old daughter and I were on the side of the car that bore the full force of the collision. I was belted in the front seat, but suffered multiple fractures. My daughter was in her Recaro Vivo seat and sustained nothing more than a cut on her face from the broken glass and a little muscle soreness. Her booster seat, which I had selected because of its superior side impact protection, kept her safe before breaking in two from the impact.

We are profoundly grateful that we purchased a Recaro booster and that it did its job so very well. Our daughter has been asking us to get her another "comfy car seat" in the grey and pink design she likes so much. We just reordered it through Amazon.
